A faint line is a positive result. Any visible second line within the result window — no matter how faint — means hCG hormone was detected. Evaporation line (not positive): Appears after 10 minutes once urine dries. Has no colour — grey or colourless. Can appear slightly outside the normal T-line position. Does not darken on retesting. Always read your result within 3–5 minutes.

The scanner analyses pixel brightness patterns to identify dark bands against a light background. Accuracy depends heavily on photo quality — good lighting, a flat test, and no shadows are critical. The scanner is best used as a second opinion for unclear faint lines. It is not a medical device and cannot replace reading the test yourself or a doctor's interpretation. For very faint lines, the brightness map helps confirm whether a real line is present. Always confirm a positive result with a blood hCG test.

Different test brands use different visual conventions. For most strip tests (Prega News, First Response, standard strips): two lines = positive, one line = negative. For some digital tests (Clearblue Digital): a "+" symbol or the word "Pregnant" indicates positive. Yes. The scanner works with any pregnancy test brand that uses a strip-based result window (visible lines). This includes Prega News, i-Can, First Response, Clearblue strip tests and all standard pharmacy brands. Digital tests that show text only (e.g. "Pregnant / Not Pregnant") do not have visible lines for the scanner to analyse — read the digital display directly. For all strip tests, crop the photo to show only the result window area for best accuracy.
