๐ธ Tips for the Best Scan Result
How to Read a Pregnancy Test โ All Line Types Explained
Every possible result your pregnancy test can show โ with visual diagrams and medical explanations.
Two Lines โ Strong Positive
Both the control line (C) and test line (T) are clearly visible and dark. This is a definitive positive result โ hCG was detected at high levels. Confirm with a doctor and begin prenatal care.
โ PREGNANTFaint Second Line โ Early Positive
Control line dark, test line very faint but visible in good light within 5 minutes. This is a positive โ hCG detected at low levels. Common when testing 10โ12 DPO before a missed period. Retest in 48โ72 hours to confirm.
๐ธ POSITIVE โ Retest in 48hrsOne Line โ Negative Result
Only the control line (C) is visible โ no second line in the test (T) zone. The test is working correctly but no hCG was detected. If period is not yet due, retest on the first day of your missed period for 99% accuracy.
๐ NOT PREGNANTGrey / Colourless Line โ Evaporation Line
A faint grey or colourless line appearing in the test zone after 10 minutes as urine dries. This is NOT a positive โ it is an evaporation artefact. Always read tests within 3โ5 minutes. Retest with a fresh kit.
๐ง EVAPORATION โ Not PositiveNo Lines / No Control Line โ Invalid
If no control line appears โ regardless of whether a test line is visible โ the test has failed and the result is invalid. This can be caused by an expired kit, insufficient urine, or a faulty strip. Repeat with a new kit.
